Executive Director, Continuing Education

Nan Callender-Price manages and oversees the development of all print and online continuing nursing education material. She blended her interests in publishing and journalism with nursing as a freelance writer covering health and nursing topics for NurseWeek more than 20 years ago. Subsequently, she became the director and editor of continuing education for NurseWeek until starting with OnCourse Learning (formerly Nursing Spectrum) in 2004. Over the course of her career in publishing, she has worked with dozens of nurse authors to assist them in developing their continuing education programs. She contributed the chapter “On the Road to Writing Continuing Education” for the book Anatomy of Writing for Publication for Nurses, published by Sigma Theta Tau in 2011. Callender-Price has led several CE tours, including tours to China, Australia and New Zealand, Spain and Portugal, and South Africa and Zambia. She practiced in women and children’s health at Kaiser Permanente, San Francisco.

She holds a BA in English literature from the University of California, Berkeley; a BSN from the University of California, San Francisco; and an MA in education from San Francisco State University.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking, golfing, swimming, photography, and traveling. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband.
